Copiah County native celebrates 113th birthday this week | People

A Copiah County native will celebrate her 113th birthday Wednesday, December 12th at Baptist Adult Day Health Services in Clinton. Lillian Irby, who likes to be called 'Nana', will celebrate with some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lillian was born and grew up in Crystal Springs, but eventually moved to Chicago where she met her husband.

She came back to Mississippi in the mid 1980s and has been here since. Her husband passed away in 1988, and her granddaughter takes care of her.

Lillian loves the Lord and loves to go to church, and also loves to eat fried fish and turnip greens companied by something sweet.

One interesting fact is that she takes no medicines, not even at her age.
